Non-medicinal ingredient:
1 mL of tincture contains 0.49 mL alcohol (ethanol).

1 mL = 33 drops. Dropper included.
Dosage
Adults and adolescents over 12 years old: Take 10 to 15 drops, 1 to 3 times daily with water, 15 minutes before meals. Insalivate before swallowing. Sweeten with honey if desired.
Children 6 to 11 years old: Give 5 to 10 drops, 1 to 3 times daily with water, 15 minutes before meals.
Children 1 to 5 years old: Give 1 to 5 drops, 1 to 3 times daily with water, 15 minutes before meals.
Historical overview
According to Maurice Mességué, renowned French herbalist and healer, Oats is an important source of minerals. It treats arthritis, liver insufficiency and rheumatism.(1)
According to Cynthia M. Watson, physician, Oats tincture is recommended for impotence and nervous exhaustion. It is useful for opium weaning and as a nervine tonic. Dr. Watson uses Oats tincture to improve physical resistance and sexual vigor in men and women.(2)

Flowering Oats is listed in the unapproved herbs section of the German Commission E for: acute and chronic anxiety, stress and excitation, neurasthenic and pseudoneurasthenic syndroms, skin diseases, connective tissue deficiencies, weakness of the bladder and as a nervine tonic.
Actions and pharmacology
Flowering Oats contains oligosaccharides and polysaccharides, saponins, flavonoids, avenic acid and silicic acid. It also contains free amino acids and trace elements of phosphorus, magnesium and calcium. According to David Hoffmann(5), herbalist, flowering Oats is a nervine tonic, a mild antidepressant and a vulnerary. It is one of the best remedies to nourish the exhausted nervous system, particularly during stressful periods. Flowering Oats reinforces the whole nervous system and is both relaxing and stimulating.
