Preparations usually energize or calm - but not both. Rhodiola has the ability to increase resistance to a variety of stresses - chemical, biological and physical. Its effects are attributed mainly to its capacity to influence the levels and activity of critical neurotransmitters: serotonin (controls mood, emotion, sleep, appetite); dopamine (important role in behavior, movement control, sleep, mood and attention); and norepinephrine (affects parts of the brain where attention and response actions are controlled - it partially determines the “fight-or-flight response”). Composition Each tablet contains: Medicinal Ingredients: Magnesium (trimagnesium dicitrate) 28.2 mg; Rhodiola (Rhodiola rosea L.) root extract (ratio 20:1) 100 mg; standardized to 1 mg salidrosides and 3 mg rosavins, equivalent to 2,000 mg of Rhodiola root; Fresh flowering Oat (Avena sativa L.) herb and seed extract (ratio 1.7:1) 150 mg, equivalent to 255 mg flowering Oat, herb and seed. Non-Medicinal Ingredients: Microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide colloidal, glycerin. Dosage Adults: Take one tablet twice daily with water. Not to be taken immediately before bedtime. Duration of use: Consult a healthcare practitioner for use beyond 6 weeks. Contraindications Do not use if you have bipolar disorder or bipolar spectrum disorder. Consult a healthcare practitioner prior to use if you are taking antidepressant medication, hormone replacement therapy (HRT) or birth control pills.
